I saw this game at multiple mega-events but had a hard time grasping the concept, and that made the price point a problem for me. I finally gave in and decided to try it out in July.
My family fell in LOVE with this game! I did not play it once and then come post my review, I have played dozens of times since my purchase, and the purchase was WELL worth the price! My seven year old son who reads really well (important facet of the game) begs to play this game EVERY day (no exaggeration). My 12 year old daughter loves playing, too! Both kids have had their vocabulary increased and their comprehension levels improved partially because this game has challenged them in a fun way! I was afraid this would just be a childish, silly game, but it allows for a strategy and just enough randomness and luck to make the game fun EVERY time for everyone!
I bought version 1 at the event and purchased version 2 the moment it became available. Version 2 made improvements that have made a SUPER fun game EVEN BETTER!!! I am now hosting geocaching events to teach others as much of the nuance of the game as possible because I don’t want the price point to be a deterrent to anyone else… I want people to see how great this game is and how worthwhile this purchase is!
I purchased this at a Mega event last year thinking that when my 10 & 11 yr. old grandchildren spent the night it might be more fun than watching tv or fighting (seemingly their favorite pasttimes). Since they have cached with us and enjoy it,they understood the basics. I never expected them to have so much fun and love it so much. Now they beg to play it every time they come over and since it can be adapted to be as long as you wish, it gets pulled out almost every visit. OK, I admit,I like it too!
What a fun game! The ads don’t lie, it does change every time and is so addictive! I can’t stop playing!
Got this game and love it! Before we played the game we laminated all the game cards. It made the game cards way more durable and a little easier to pick the pieces up.
I bought this game at a geocaching event. Met the creators. They even autographed my box for me. Promised me that I’d love the game or they’d give my money back. Played the game once, addicted. Haven’t stopped playing it. My two boys are 8 and 9 years old and they beat me almost every time. A great game for the whole family. You can re-arrange the board layout to make the game more challenging too. That helps to keep the game from getting old. It’s a new game every time!
I had the opportunity to purchase the “Cache Me If You Can” game at a Mega Event in the summer of 2013. If you are into geocaching, this is definitely a MUST HAVE. We have pulled it out at several events since and have enjoyed playing it each time. The game plays differently each time which adds to the fun.
Bought this game and have played it many times now. No game is the same, and even the non-cachers in the group enjoy it. Easy to learn and fast paced fun!
This game is a must for board game lovers. It doesn’t matter if you are a geocacher or not. The game is different every time, as it says. I even find that we play it differently every time, different strategies from all of us. We play with our 11 year old, and 7 year old sons, and they love it too. It lends itself to rule modifications, and the game makers are great at getting back to you with answers to any questions you may have on the game. As a family that plays a fair amount of board games, this is one that is solidly in our regular rotation now.
It is a bit overpriced, because most of the materials are just punch-out cards.
It also takes fine motor dexterity (and fingernails) to lift the small cards from the playing board every turn.
Some of the ads for this game say the container is like a metal ammo can, but it is a cardboard container. However, as a geocacher, I will rate it highly because as a cacher, I can relate to the experiences involved with the game
and enjoyed playing it. As someone who likes to invent games, I would make some of the pieces more durable, and maybe tweak the way cards have to be turned over in such a small space each time.
